When Gov. Jay Inslee recently extended the ban on indoor dining until January 4, he left some allowances in place, including limited outdoor seating. Since the pandemic began, many Seattle restaurants have pushed for an expansion of open-air options, particularly with expedited permits for street and sidewalk closures. As the weather gets colder, several restaurants with patios have taken to winterizing their spaces with heaters and sturdier coverings. Here’s a partial list of places that offer al fresco meals during brisker weather.
Note: Studies indicate that there is a lower exposure risk when outdoors, but the level of risk involved with patio dining is contingent on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines.
