The 2020 ACM Awards entertainer of the year also noted how much he and his wife, Lauren Akins, enjoy drinking tequila together and where he hopes his fans will be sipping on Dos Primos, which means “two cousins” in Spanish. “My wife and I love to enjoy tequila together, and I’m excited for people to share a bottle with friends, sip it around a bonfire or enjoy it on a fishing trip or at tailgate or concert,” he said in a press statement. “Dos Primos is about unwinding and enjoying the people and things that really matter in life.”
The “premium sippin’ tequila” is distilled from 100% blue agave that comes from Los Altos and the valley area of Jalisco in Mexico. Dos Primos is distilled at Destiladora González Lux, which is located outside the city of Arandas, in the highlands of Jalisco. Third-generation Master Distiller Rodolfo González helped Rhett and Worn make the tequila, featuring hints of earthly herbs and summer citrus and floral notes.
“There’s no greater thrill or commitment than putting your name on something you believe in,” Worn said in the statement. “Our names are more than just our reputation — they represent our legacy and our future. That’s not something Thomas Rhett and I take lightly. We are proud of this product, and we’re excited to introduce Dos Primos.”
Rhett teased he and Worn were “working on something fun” on Jan. 8 in a screen-recording of their video chat and had fans guessing on his IG story what that might be.
