The Pastry Project’s Soft Serve Window Opening
June 4
The Pastry Project’s soft-serve window is only open for the summer, and it offers three flavors—purple vanilla, chocolate, and twist. While the ice cream is decadent enough to enjoy on its own—no cheap, icy mix here—the true magic is in the toppings. A hard shell dip is available in butterscotch, chocolate, and strawberry passionfruit, and you’re gonna definitely want to add their rainbow peanut crunch. That’s housemade honeycomb-esque peanut brittle that has been smashed to bits and mixed with chopped peanuts and rainbow sprinkles. Nut-Blasting Crispy Magic Rainbow Crunch Fuck Yeah is what they should call it. That on a twist cone with the strawberry passionfruit dip tastes like a PB&J turned up to 11. On June 4, the window’s first day of the season, the Pastry Project is giving away free mini ice cream sandwiches to the first 100 people in line. (The Pastry Project, 3 pm, free) MEGAN SELING
Gays Eating Garlic Bread in the Park
June 6
Perhaps you were one of the millions of people who became aware of the “Gays Eating Garlic Bread in the Park” sensation after a simple poster advertising it went massively viral on TikTok last year. The joyful gathering, which bid attendees to “BYOGB,” ended up drawing hordes of friendly carb-seeking queers. It’s back again with plenty of beverages and games under a veranda. Go forth and thaw the Seattle freeze, and don’t forget to bring your own buttery, allium-laced snacks to share. (South Woodland Park, noon–5 pm, free, all ages) JULIANNE BELL
Gobble Up
June 27
The indie craft show Urban Craft Rising typically hosts their annual specialty food show Gobble Up during the winter holiday season, but there’s no reason that an array of tasty small-batch products should be relegated to the wintertime, so they’re hosting this brand new summer version with over 75 small businesses and food trucks. If you want to plan ahead with your gift-giving, the Cancers, Leos, and Virgos in your life will surely appreciate birthday presents like hand-crafted salami, chili crisp, or wooden cutting boards—or just treat yourself to something special.
