The first wave of Pride events goes down this weekend, with celebrations from Gays Eating Garlic Bread in the Park and Seattle Pride in the Park to the White Center Pride Street Festival. We’re also suggesting you make time for Maple Fest, the Kenmore Community Rowing Club’s open house and National Learn to Row Day, and other options below. Bus Bash Summer Concert
Youth-driven organization the Washington Bus helps the next generation learn how to harness their political power—and boy do we need their energy right now. The nonprofit throws a summer concert bash this Friday to raise money for its programs and share how to get involved, opening the doors of the all-ages Vera Project for free to those 18-and-under and just five bucks for anyone else. Between moments of civic “enragement,” you can get your groove on to sets from local bands like pop-rockers Hot Stepmom, nostalgic pop-punk group Midnight Parkway, and indie pop project Hollow Daze, who recently released their first two songs on streaming platforms.
