Ballard Power this week announced an order of fuel cell systems for stationary applications from a company specializing in renewable off-grid power generation.

The order, totalling 15 megawatts, is comprised of 150 FCmove-HD+ 100 kW fuel cell modules, and follows a 2024 order of this scale from that particular firm, according to a statement from the Burnaby-based cleantech innovator.
“This order reflects continued market adoption of zero-emission fuel cell solutions for off-grid stationary power applications,” commented chief executive officer Marty Neese.
In 2025, Neese took over the lead role of Ballard Power Systems from Randy MacEwen during a leadership transition as the fuel cell industry “enters a new phase.”
He says the recent transaction is “a positive endorsement from our partner on the ability of the FCmove-HD+ module to provide quiet, clean, economical, and reliable low-carbon power wherever and whenever it is needed.”
“When paired with Ballard’s integrated service offerings, including predictive maintenance and performance optimization, we are able to fully support our customer in providing clean, reliable hydrogen power solutions,” stated the CEO.
Deliveries are expected to start in the second half of this year.
Other major customers for Ballard include bus manufacturer New Flyer.
The Canadian cleantech will supply 500 fuel cell engines to New Flyer, representing 50 megawatts of capacity—the biggest deal between the companies since their partnership began more than a decade ago.
Ballard’s global installed base exceeds 2,200 fuel cell buses, which have collectively logged more than 250 million kilometres.
Beyond hardware, Ballard is expanding recurring service revenue through its Fleet Services platform, which includes training, technical support, parts supply, operational monitoring, digital analytics, and fuel cell stack servicing.
Shares in Ballard, which trades publicly on the NASDAQ and TSX as BLDP, have more than doubled in the past year, though remain well down from all-time highs.
