‘Real-World Impact’ Lands Svante on Global List of Innovative Ideas

Must Read

Fast Company released its 2026 list of world-changing ideas, and a clean energy innovator based out of British Columbia stands among them.

Vancouver’s Svante Technologies is an integrated carbon management company founded in 2007 whose nano-engineered solid sorbent filter technology—which enables capture and removal of CO₂ from industrial emissions—attracted the attention of Fast Company.

“The World Changing Ideas Awards are more than inspiration,” explains Fast Company editor-in-chief Brendan Vaughan. “They’re a measure of real-world impact.”

Svante’s filters, which leverage nano-engineered materials and specialized parts, are designed to support a range of applications such as direct air capture and advanced gas separations.

“Our technology is designed to perform at industrial scale with the efficiency, modularity, and manufacturability required for global deployment, proving that durable climate solutions can also deliver strong business value,” says Richard Laliberte, COO of Svante.

Svante is a member of the BC Tech Association.

“This year’s honourees are turning bold ideas into tangible solutions and addressing urgent global challenges with creativity and rigour,” commented Vaughan.

Svante is positioned at the intersection of climate technology, advanced materials, and scalable manufacturing, according to a statement from the company.

“This recognition underscores the commercial and societal importance of Svante’s approach to carbon capture, removal, and gas separations,” Laliberte remarked.

Svante’s other recent accolades include the 2025 Global Cleantech 100 Hall of Fame and TIME & Statista’s list of Top Greentech Companies of 2025.

The company was also named Scaleup Venture of the Year at Foresight Canada’s inaugural Canadian Cleantech Awards as well as Ambition Company of the Year at the Technology Impact Awards.
