FRIDAY

LIVE MUSIC

Cat Valley, Linda From Work, & Poysenberry
Bellingham band Cat Valley has been making lo-fi riot grrrl punk for a decade now, touting their witty lyrics and surf-tinged melodies around the Pacific Northwest and to festivals like Freakout, Belltown Bloom, and Treefort Music Fest over the years. Last year, the group decided to pull their music from Spotify, which makes it even more important for fans to support them by grabbing tickets to the show and buying their merch. And I’ll give two more reasons to catch this show: Cat Valley recently recorded a live performance video of an unreleased song called “Landlord,” which they’ll likely play again tonight, and they posted a warning that this gig might be one of their only Seattle concerts this year. Local garage rock/dance punk band Linda From Work and newcomers Poysenberry kick off the night with sets full of angst, electric guitar, and powerhouse vocals. SHANNON LUBETICH
(The Mountain Room: Bar at the R, SoDo, $12-$15)
