Perimeter Road at 13th & Greely

In April, I wrote about Marcellus Bonow-Manier’s residency at the Georgetown Steam Plant, which has stretched out over the past year as the artist haunted and documented the darkened corners of our city’s iconic industrial cathedral. Now his photographs are being exhibited onsite in two simultaneous exhibitions: 13th & Greely, titled after the abandoned intersection where the Steam Plant stands, and Perimeter Road, “an inquisition and love letter to the building itself.” The show features Bonow-Manier’s ethereal point-and-shoot images and sculpture by colleague and collaborator Mack Greene. The opening reception—with a live DJ set billowing through the building—on August 7 is free, but RSVP to save your spot. (Georgetown Steam Plant) AMANDA MANITACH
Coffin Farm Summer Show

It’s the sixth iteration of Coffin Farm’s Summer Show, a site-specific exhibition on a bucolic, goat-populated, 15-acre family farm at the edge of Redmond. Since 2018, Von Coffin and their father, Edward, have invited artists from around the world to install work on the land, creating one of the region’s most unexpected (and coolest) sculpture parks. (Cover your ears, Olympic Sculpture Park!) Wander the goat field, and you’ll encounter the bones of felled sculptures and fragments of monuments half-sunk into the earth, where time, decay, and the elements become collaborators. This year’s show features a whopping 31 artists from Seattle, Vancouver, Glasgow, Philadelphia, Boston, and LA. No word yet on whether Tomo’s Brady Williams will return with the pig-roasting rig he brought in 2024; either way, you’ll cry if you miss this. (Coffin Farm, Redmond) AMANDA MANITACH
Inconvenience Store

They’re doing it again! The masterminds behind IKEA-spoof STÖR, Mary Anne Carter and Lilia Deering, are putting together another pop-up art exhibition and retail experience, Inconvenience Store. Where STÖR—in all its Swedish meatball glory—fleshed out the sprawling Base Camp 2, this new venture inhabits the ghost of a former 7-Eleven at Third and Pine, on the ground floor of the new office high-rise-turned-art-space, Parnassus. Inconvenience Store will feature artist-made renditions of familiar goods, organized by department (Food & Pantry, Beauty & Personal Care) by over 50 artists, including Colleen Louise Barry, Shiloh Davies, Emma Kates-Shaw, Maayan Haim, and more. A soft opening is planned for August 28 during the downtown art walk. (Parnassus) AMANDA MANITACH
