Sorthbound I-405 will be closed 11:30 p.m. Friday night through 4 a.m. Monday morning from Exit 10 to Exit 6.
Due to the closure, a signed detour will be in place from Sept. 25 to Sept. 28, allowing drivers to exit at Coal Creek Parkway Southeast (exit 10), where drivers will drive east and south on Coal Creek Pkwy SE, which will become Duvall Avenue NE before taking a right onto SR-900/NE Sunset Boulevard. Drivers will then take the on-ramp to return to southbound I-405.
Travelers should be aware of road work along the detour route on Coal Creek Parkway Southeast as part of King County’s Coal Creek Sewer Upgrade Project.
For those planning on traveling into Kirkland this weekend, there will also be a closure of northbound and southbound I-405 on-ramps and off-ramps at Northeast 132nd St. This closure will be from 10 p.m. Sept. 25 to 5 a.m. Sept. 28. Signed detours will also be in place.
Crews with WSDOT will Crews will excavate drainage crossings, complete full pavement replacements and a traffic switch as part of the I-405/Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project.The project is designed to improve speeds and trip reliability and support the new I-405 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line between Lynnwood and Tukwila.
