Juno Industries Unveils Guardian and Logan Defence Systems

Must Read

Vancouver-based Juno Industries has unveiled two defence technology systems designed to help military and government personnel detect threats and make decisions in remote and challenging environments.

Announced this week, Guardian combines sensors, local computing hardware, and Juno’s Logan software to collect, process, and display information from the field. The company says the system is designed to operate without external connectivity or GPS, with potential deployments spanning borders, front lines, and the Arctic.

Logan brings data from multiple sources into a shared operational view. It also functions as a standalone software platform designed to integrate with existing command-and-control systems.

Both products have completed foundational research and development and beta field-testing but remain in pre-commercialization. Juno says an earlier version of Guardian was tested by the Canadian Armed Forces.

The announcement builds on a busy year for the company, co-founded by former federal defence minister Harjit Sajjan and technology entrepreneur Hunter Scharfe.

As Techcouver previously reported, Juno secured $12 million in May to expand its workforce, accelerate research and development, and support deployment. The company has also announced Polar Nexus, an Arctic-focused platform being developed with Critical Infrastructure Technologies for communications and sensing in harsh environments.

Juno also announced its acceptance into the Defence Investment Agency’s Defence Drone Initiative, which supports development and testing of uncrewed and autonomous systems for the Canadian Armed Forces and Canadian Coast Guard.
