Trauma Bond: Benefiting Scarecrow Video
I remember when I saw my first R-rated slasher: the 2006 remake of The Hills Have Eyes. Was I supposed to watch it? No. Did it scar me for life? A little. But there was something all too enticing about watching a movie my mom definitely would’ve covered my eyes through half of. And honestly, I feel a semblance of that forbidden excitement looking at the season two lineup of Trauma Bond, because Cannibal Holocaust, Come and See, Irreversible, and A Serbian Film are the kind of movies you hear about long before you actually see them. Northwest Film Forum brings all four to the big screen this October—arrive early to any screening to catch a live pre-show from Seattle’s “living cult classic” drag queen Monday Mourning. Plus, the more you see this season, the better, as your psychological distress (and ticket sales) benefit beloved local institution Scarecrow Video. LANGSTON THOMAS
