Stevie Nicks has had a change of plans after suffering a recent injury, with the Fleetwood Mac frontwoman announcing Friday (Aug. 1) that her next two months of shows will be postponed as she heals.

In a note shared to her social media accounts, Nicks’ team wrote, “Due to a recent injury resulting in a fractured shoulder that will require recovery time, Stevie Nicks’ scheduled concerts in August and September will be rescheduled.”

Noting that the star will proceed with her shows in October as scheduled, the message concludes, “Stevie looks forward to seeing everyone soon and apologizes to the fans for this inconvenience.”

Donald Trump’s order restricting birthright citizenship appeared on Friday to be headed toward being declared unconstitutional by a second federal appeals court, as judges expressed deep skepticism about a key piece of the US president’s hardline immigration agenda.

A three-judge panel of the Boston-based first US circuit court of appeals sharply questioned a lawyer with the federal justice department as to why they should overturn two lower-court judges who blocked the order from taking effect.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting announced on Friday it will shut down operations after losing federal funding, delivering a blow to America’s public media system and the more than 1,500 local stations that have relied on its support for nearly six decades.

The closure follows the Republican-controlled House’s decision last month to eliminate $1.1bn in CPB funding over two years, part of a $9bn reduction to public media and foreign aid programs.

“Despite the extraordinary efforts of millions of Americans who called, wrote, and petitioned Congress to preserve federal funding for CPB, we now face the difficult reality of closing our operations,” said Patricia Harrison, the corporation’s president and chief executive.

Anthropic revoked OpenAI’s API access to its models on Tuesday, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell WIRED. OpenAI was informed that its access was cut off due to violating the terms of service.

“Claude Code has become the go-to choice for coders everywhere and so it was no surprise to learn OpenAI’s own technical staff were also using our coding tools ahead of the launch of GPT-5,” Anthropic spokesperson Christopher Nulty said in a statement to WIRED. “Unfortunately, this is a direct violation of our terms of service.”

Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social that is majority-owned by President Donald Trump, posted earnings results for the second quarter of 2025.

The company reported $883,300 in net sales for Q2, up 5.5% year over year, and a net loss of $20.0 million (compared with a net loss of $16.4 million in the year-ago quarter), according to its 10-Q filing Friday with the SEC. The net loss included $20.5 million of non-cash expenses for stock-based compensation, depreciation and amortization, interest expense and income taxes, TMTG said.

A Miami jury found Tesla partially liable Friday in a 2019 crash that killed one person and injured another—all while the driver of the Model S used the automaker’s Autopilot driver assistance feature.

The jury found Tesla liable for $200 million in punitive damages, plus an additional $43 million in compensatory damages. (Because of state laws, the company will likely end up paying less.) Arkansas police say suspect admitted killing couple hiking with daughters

Arkansas authorities say a 28-year-old schoolteacher has admitted he killed a couple who were hiking with their two young daughters at a state park, and he has been charged with capital murder in what investigators are portraying as a “random” attack.

Clinton, 43, and Cristen Brink, 41, were found dead on Saturday on a walking trail at Devil’s Den state park. Their daughters, seven and nine, were not hurt and are being cared for by family members, authorities have said.

State police arrested Andrew McGann on Thursday after a five-day search and a flood of tips. He was captured in Springdale, a city about 30 miles (50km) north of Devil’s Den.
