VOORHEES TOWNSHIP, N.J. – A New Jersey high school valedictorian was silenced briefly during commencement remarks about mental illness and his own experience as a queer-identifying teen surviving high school.

Now, the Voorhees school district wants a federal agency to review whether it acted improperly in muting Bryce Dershem’s microphone and allegedly crumpling the paper copy of his speech on the dias before 450 graduates and their families.

Eastern Regional Camden County High School District Superintendent Robert Cloutier told the Courier Post, part of the USA TODAY Network, on Monday that he has directed school district attorney Anthony Padovani “to contact an appropriate government agency to conduct an independent review.”

Padovani said he’s filed a complaint with the

SURFSIDE, Fla. – Six days after a condo building just outside of Miami collapsed, families of the 150 people still missing are growing weary as they desperately wait for answers.

The death toll remains at 11, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said Tuesday. Levine Cava said the all 11 families have been notified by authorities.

As the Surfside community continues to mourn, President Joe Biden also announced Tuesday he would visit the site of the collapsed condo building on Thursday.

Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett said he has received questions from frustrated families about why rescue efforts would stop during thunderstorms. Buckett said the fire chief told families he would get back to them

2021 Ford Bronco review: 4 features I loved and 1 you'll miss on Ford's new SUV

If your friendly neighborhood Jeep or Land Rover salesman looks a little nervous this summer, blame the 2021 Ford Bronco.

Reborn with a revered name, familiar looks and innovative features, Ford’s two- and four-door SUV is a breath of fresh air — whether the convertible top is open or closed — in a class of vehicles begging for new ideas and more competition.

Arriving in dealerships now, the Bronco rides on a new body-on-frame architecture that will also underpin the next generation of Ford’s Ranger midsize pickup. A new version of the Ranger using the architecture is expected to go into production in 18 to 24 months.

The Bronco’s not exactly a

Coming (sort of) soon to all United flights: Seatback entertainment screens with free movies, TV shows, games

United Airlines is making a big bet on inflight entertainment as part of a major post-pandemic plan announced Tuesday.

The Chicago-based airline is buying nearly 300 new planes — the latest sign of confidence in the travel industry’s comeback — and said each of them will be outfitted with seatback entertainment screens as they arrive in the next five years.

Passengers won’t have to be on a new plane to watch the free lineup of movies, TV shows, games and other entertainment, however.

United said it plans to add seatback screens to existing narrowbody planes without screens (except for regional aircraft). The retrofitting project, which will also include other features including larger overhead bins, will begin next year

WHO recommends masks even for fully vaccinated; Pfizer, Moderna vaccines may offer long immunity: COVID-19 updates

The World Health Organization has urged fully vaccinated people to continue wearing masks indoors and practice social distancing as the delta variant surges in many parts of the world.

“People cannot feel safe just because they had the two doses. They still need to protect themselves,” said Dr. Mariangela Simao, WHO assistant director-general, during a news briefing Friday.

The Centers for Disease Control, however, told vaccinated Americans in May that they no longer needed to wear masks indoors. CDC officials pointed to the guidance Monday and gave no indication it would change, according to the New York Times.

But some areas around the country are still urging vaccinated residents to wear masks indoors.

Video shows moment a 200-foot chunk of cliff breaks off into Lake Superior

DETROIT— Jahn Martin was visiting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore when a 200-foot chunk of the cliff suddenly broke off and fell into Lake Superior.

He captured the entire scene on video.

He was on a pontoon with some friends when they heard the wall popping and cracking, he told Mid-Michigan Now. Then, within 60 seconds, the cliff face slid down and crashed into the water.

“We could hear the cliff wall popping and cracking and within 60 seconds a section of cliff approximately 200 feet wide fell before us,” Martin told WLUC-TV. “The splash and swell wave were very dramatic.”

Rockfalls can occur for a variety of reasons, ranging from water seeping in between any cracks to earthquakes to

Homemade Crackers — a Delicious Road Trip Snack

0

Is there anything better than a road trip? I mean, really — windows down, sun shining, hair whipping in the breeze. I love it! I can’t wait to keep taking my little ones on road trips as they grow up. And the perfect road trip needs the perfect playlist and delicious snacks. That’s why I love my Rosemary and Sea Salt Crackers. Crackers keep well, are easy to make, and are a crunchy, delicious, special treat you can slowly savor.

Whether you bake up a bunch of these with rosemary or you choose to try something else (perhaps Parmesan and garlic), these are the perfect road trip snack. I’d
