During the Covid-19 pandemic, the greatest crisis of our generation, healthcare has been top of mind for many Americans.

In the new Biden administration, progressive politicians such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders hope to finally push through a nationalized, universal, single-payer healthcare bill into law. But until some version of universal healthcare is closer to a reality, hundreds of thousands of people are turning to an unlikely place for

Far-Right Groups Are Splintering in Wake of the Capitol Riot

Just eight weeks after the Capitol riot, some of the most prominent groups that participated are fracturing amid a torrent of backbiting and finger-pointing. The fallout will determine the future of some of the most high-profile far-right organizations and raises the specter of splinter groups that could make the movement even more dangerous. “This group needs new leadership and a new direction,” the St. Louis branch of the Proud Boys announced recently on the encrypted messaging service Telegram, echoing denunciations by at least six other chapters also rupturing with the national organization. “The fame we’ve

A Michigan teacher wanted to use a BLM at School curriculum. She says the district said no, so she resigned.

A special education teacher in Michigan resigned after she says district officials balked at her plans to discuss diversity and race topics in the classroom.

Katelyne Thomas taught first through fifth grade students for three years, but her last day was Friday.

Mason Public Schools, located in south-central Michigan, denied muzzling Thomas, and said the material she suggested using in class had not been vetted and she was provided alternate material.

In January, Thomas suggested for Black History Month, the district could incorporate material provided by Black Lives Matter at School, a nationwide coalition advocating racial justice in education.

The group urged educators across the country to use the

The latest crop of NASA-backed concepts for far-out space exploration includes “borebots” that could drill as far as a mile beneath the Martian surface in search of liquid water, and a nuclear-powered spacecraft that could intercept interstellar objects as they zip through our solar system.

Researchers in Washington state are behind both of those ideas.

The borebots and the interstellar-object checker are among 16 proposals winning Phase I funding from the NASA Innovative

Frasier returns: Kelsey Grammer's comeback is loaded with risk

0

Already standing high in the tiny line of spinoff shows that at least equal the longevity and legend of the parent, Frasier (NBC, 1993-2004) – born out of Cheers (NBC, 1982-93) – will aim for a place on an even emptier plinth: classic series successfully revived after a long gap.

Arrested Development in the US, and Birds of a Feather and Open All Hours in the UK, have managed such a comeback, but those shows did not have the status of Frasier. To dust off the fastidious Seattle-based radio psychiatrist played by Kelsey Grammer entails something like the degree of risk in going back to Fawlty Towers, which its creator,
