Bumbershoot’s back in trademark form: bold and beautiful as ever, and what they proclaim to be “still the most surprising weekend in Seattle.” The lineup, which we’ll dive into below, is smaller than recent years, but no less impressive. In addition to pairing down, the iconic festival has perhaps never been more family friendly. Kids 12 and under? Free with any normal ticket. In and out privileges? You betcha. Cat circus, puppet playhouse, pro wrestling and videorama? Of course. This promises to be a weekend where many a memory will be made.
Last year’s iteration of Bumbershoot saw a smaller number of stages compared to the 2024 festival. And while that of course meant there were less acts on the bill to see, it also meant there were less agonizing decisions to make, knowing that seeing one artist on your list invariably meant missing another for which you were pining. Quality is a beautiful thing, and sometimes quantity can be overwhelming.
This year the two big headliners are rock extraordinaire’s Turnstile and PNW born Death Cab for Cutie, both sure to be mammoth draws. Yet it’s the quality of the lineup from top to bottom that makes us most excited: Blood Orange, Lucy Dacus, Sudan Archives, Bikini Kill, Orville Peck, and De La Soul, just to name a few. GA tickets for this year’s festival are still available, starting at $155.50 for the full weekend, +$20 for the weekend+in and out privileges, while individual days are available at $90.50.
Music, fashion, lifestyle, art, comedy, adventure, and delicious food will all coalesce in Seattle on Labor Day weekend, September 5+6, 2026, to undoubtedly make this year’s iteration of Bumbershoot as memorable as ever.
