I, Anonymous

Must Read

Dear neighbor,

I pass by you a couple times a week, me walking my dog, you grooving to what must be awesome tunes in your earbuds and smoking a joint on the sidewalk across from our “smoke-free” apartment campus.

You look so happy and in-the-moment, you dance like you feel the music in your bone marrow, you hold your joint like it’s a ceremonial item, you grin at me as if we’re both in on some delicious secret of life.

I just want to thank you for creating your own joy and radiating it outward in public. Your genuine smile always pulls a genuine smile out of me, too. I see you choosing to throw your own dance party, and I’m reminded that I have that choice, too.

Please keep doing what you’re doing. It brightens my day. Be well and be blessed. That’s all!

–Your neighbor
