Vancouver-based Intiveo is introducing a new AI layer for dental practices, with a focus on helping providers improve patient communication without giving up control of the patient relationship.
The company announced Veo this week, describing it as a growing network of AI capabilities built into the Intiveo platform. The goal is to help dental teams enhance patient engagement while maintaining transparency, trust, and provider oversight.
While much of the conversation around AI in healthcare has centred on automation and efficiency, Intiveo says Veo is being built with practices, providers, and patients at the centre of every decision.
“There’s a lot of excitement around AI, but there’s also understandable hesitation,” said Josh DeVries, CEO and co-founder of Intiveo. “Practices aren’t looking for technology that removes the human element from care, they’re looking for technology that helps them strengthen it.”
DeVries said Veo was designed to be transparent, configurable, and aligned with the relationships between practices and their patients.

“We believe AI should give practices more confidence, not less, in how they communicate and deliver care,” he added.
Veo is designed to be compliant by design and configurable by practice, allowing dental teams to adopt AI capabilities at their own pace. According to Intiveo, providers will be able to clearly understand which actions are automated, which require review, and which remain entirely provider-directed.
The first two Veo-powered capabilities are Suggestions and Responses.
Suggestions allows teams to ask Veo during business hours to recommend chat templates that match a patient conversation. Staff can then send the suggested template, customize it, or dismiss it.
Responses is aimed at after-hours communication. Practices can configure Veo to automatically respond to common patient inquiries, including new patient intake, office location details, parking information, and other routine questions. Questions that fall outside configured topics are directed back to the practice.
Intiveo says the launch represents the first phase of a longer-term investment in responsible AI for dental practices, with additional Veo capabilities planned as the company continues building tools to support patient engagement while preserving trust in the care experience.
