The round was backed by existing investors Altered Capital, Invest South, Mainland Angels and Snowball Effect shareholders, alongside new backers K1W1 and Icehouse Ventures.

First Table offers diners up to 50% off their food bill when they book a table at off-peak restaurant times, to try and help venues fill tables during quieter periods.

The platform now operates in 22 Australian cities, with more than 1,500 restaurants on it and one million-plus Australian users.

CEO Alex Cappy said the business would focus its new capital on expanding in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

“We are ambitious and expect to double in size in Australia in the next 12 months, just as we have in the past year,” she said.

The funding will also be used for product development, marketing and further international expansion.

Cost-of-living pressures have hit the hospitality sector hard. Industry analysis cited by the company suggests Australians are dining out around 12% less often than before 2020, yet spending between 8% and 15% more per visit.

First Table launched in Queenstown in 2014 and now operates in more than 65 cities across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland.

The company says it has more than 3.9 million diners and 5,000 participating restaurants globally, and has seated more than five million diners since launch.

First Table competes against EatClub, an Australian restaurant app, backed by chef Marco Pierre White using dynamic pricing discounts to lure in diners for meals during quieter periods. EatClub raised a $27 million Series B in February this year and is believed to be valued at around $200 million. The Melbourne startup previously raised an $18.2 million Series A in May 2025.
