A section of northbound I-405 through Bellevue will be closed this weekend, from 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16 to Monday, Oct. 19 at 4 a.m, with additional closures on northbound I-5 and eastbound I-90.
Two ramps will be closed: The Southeast 8th Street on-ramp to northbound I-405 and the Exit 13 A/B, northbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 4th street/Northeast 8th Street.
Signed detours will be in place, allowing drivers to exit at 13, and either continue north on 116th Avenue Northeast before making a left onto Northeast 4th Street, leading to the open on-ramp or, turn right onto Southeast 8th Street and travel east and then south until turn right onto 112th Avenue Southeast, followed by a right-hand turn onto Northeast 4th Street, leading to the same open on-ramp.
Crews will pave, install concrete panels and set an overhead sign structure as part of the I-405/Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project.
The project is designed to improve speeds and trip reliability and support the new I-405 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line between Lynnwood and Tukwila.
Work is dependent on good weather and may be rescheduled. Schedule updates will be available on the project webpage, WSDOT’s Travel Center map, the WSDOT mobile app and by signing up for King County email updates.
