Overnight lane and ramp closures are coming to I-5 near Kent, from Monday, Oct. 19 to Friday, Oct. 23.
The lane closure will be from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. those weekdays, specifically two lanes of southbound I-5 from SR-516 (Exit 149) to South 272nd Street (Exit 147).
The I-5 ramp closures will be the evening of Thursday, Oct. 22 to the morning of Friday, Oct. 23, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. This includes the southbound I-5 ext to South 272nd Street and the SR 516 ramp to southbound I-5. Signed detours will be in place for both ramp closures.
The I-5 closures will allow “contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to perform drainage work. The ramp closures will allow crews to prepare the area for striping.”
These closures are part of WSDOT’s SR-509 Completion Project and Puget Sound Gateway Program. To learn more, visit wsdot.wa.gov/construction-planning/search-projects/sr-509-completion-project.
