Show-Off: An Open Mic Night for You to Live Out Your Dreams
Is it a universal experience to have a family member or friend who always brings a “look what I can do” to the table? I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. I, for one, wholeheartedly appreciate a niche party trick and/or suspiciously polished impression. Luckily, Annex Theatre is building an entire night around that show-off energy with a cabaret-style open mic where performers are encouraged to bring their unique talents to the stage. Whether it be a dramatic monologue, a song, a character bit, movement art, stand-up routine, or whatever else: this night is far less industry showcase than it is community talent show. Expect all support, no rejection, and some serious theatre kid vibes. LANGSTON THOMAS
