FRIDAY

LIVE MUSIC

Dear John Letters, Spanish for 100, Skates!
What year is it? Time travel back to 2006 at this concert from pop-rock band Dear John Letters, who played all over Seattle during the early 2000s indie rock boom. Their 2003 record Stories of Our Lives earned them a spot on KEXP’s best records of the year list and airplay on college radio stations nationwide. The band’s energetic combination of earnest vocals, heavy guitar, and driving rock rhythms sounded as good as ever in 2024 when they played their first show in over a decade at the new Crocodile as part of a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood and the Transplant House. Dear John Letters reunites again this Friday at Ballard’s own community-owned cooperative venue with support from fellow 2000s indie rock band Spanish for 100 and surf-pop trio Skates!, which is the latest project from OG rock vocalist Lesli Wood. SHANNON LUBETICH
(Conor Byrne Pub, Ballard, $15.49)
