Whether July makes you think of hot dogs and fireworks, air-conditioned movie theaters, outdoor concerts and performances, or ice-cold beverages, you’ll find tons of things to do this month that will allow you to soak up that coveted Seattle sunshine now that summer is in full effect. As we do every month, we’ve compiled the biggest events you need to know about in every genre, from Deep Sea Diver and Nation of Language to Hell’s Kitchen and from the Bite of Seattle to the Seafair Torchlight Run.
COMEDY
Leslie Jones
Leslie Jones first came into frame for most of America via scene-stealing roles in movies like Ghostbusters (the remake), Coming 2 America, and even The Angry Birds Movie 2. But while the screen made her a household name, the stage absolutely remains her natural habitat. Even before becoming an Emmy-nominated SNL alum, Jones was building her reputation as one of stand-up comedy’s most fearless (and easily mistaken-for-queer) voices. Whether you’ve followed her from SNL, caught her guest-hosting stint on The Daily Show, or just enjoy watching her easily break fellow performers, this is a chance to see Jones doing what she does best: microphone in hand, working a crowd in real time.
