A new film trailer has many Twitter users wanting to speak with Hollywood’s manager.
On Thursday, a trailer was released for the upcoming film “Karen,” which stars “Orange Is the New Black” alum Taryn Manning as a woman who terrorizes her Black neighbors. Coke Daniels wrote and directed the BET original film, described on IMDb as a crime drama thriller.
In the trailer, Manning’s Karen chides her neighbors to keep trash cans off the curb, threatens to speak with a restaurant manager about noisy patrons and appears to call the police on teenagers. At one point, one of the characters discovers a soap dispenser bearing the Confederate flag.
Following the trailer’s release, people have criticized the film on Twitter for having a contrived similarity to Jordan Peele’s horror
