SURFSIDE, Fla. — Rescuers sifting through the debris of a collapsed Florida condo building continued their meticulous work Monday as town officials held onto hope of finding survivors in the rubble.

The death toll from the collapse rose to 10 after first responders pulled an additional body from the site on Monday, said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. Four were pulled from the rubble Sunday.

Levine Cava said 151 people remain unaccounted for.

Town officials and fire personnel reiterated during a Monday morning news conference that first responders were still in a search and rescue operation.

“They’re out there with every resource that they need to ensure that they can search this area,” Levine Cava said.
