Genuine Skagit Valley, a program aiming to increase spending on local agriculture in the Skagit Valley, is celebrating the summer harvest by launching Farmstand Fresh. The summer-long recognition of the region’s diverse and bountiful agriculture will highlight local farmstands.
Visitors and residents of the valley are encouraged to spend the summer supporting farmers by buying local produce.
“Skagit Valley summers are best described using our senses,” said Blake Vanfield, marketing manager of Genuine Skagit Valley in a press release. “Think open-fields, velvety ice cream, sweet corn, fresh-picked flowers, farm tractors, warm breezes, and friendly exchanges.”
