Workers at the Amazon Fresh grocery store at 23rd Avenue South and South Jackson Street in Seattle’s Central District have unionized and are demanding higher pay and better working conditions, according to The Seattle Times.
Union member and Amazon worker Joseph Fink told The Seattle Times that workers at the store have been organizing for months to form Amazon Workers United, which they’ve declared an independent union without holding a formal union vote — a move the workers say speed up the unionization process while still offering them protections.
