Tresspassing: At 2:04 a.m. a woman reporterd a male wearing a red jacket trying to turn her doorknob at 155th Place Northeast, and it sounded like he was trying to pick her lock in addition to banging on the door. Officers located the male in a fenced patio area of a different apartment where he was unpermitted.
Collision/DUI: At 4:27 a.m. a woman was driving eastboung on Northup Way and crashed through a block wall. She was not injured and was the lone occupant in the vehicle.
Jan. 28
Attempted burglary: At 9:30 a.m. a victim reported an attempted break-in to his apartment at Lakemont Boulevard Southeast. The suspect had pointed a revolver at him through a closed sliding glass door. The suspect was not located, and the responding officer canvassed the area for evidence and witnesses with negative results.
Theft: At 4:30 p.m. a female stole DVDs from a store on Factoria Boulevard Southeast. She was arrested but later released at the scene pending charges.
Trespass arrest: At 8:50 p.m. police were contacted about an unwanted and intoxicated subject at Bellevue Way Northeast. An officer advised the suspect, who was on active trespass, he would be summoned in the mail with a court date and agreed to leave the property. Hours later, police were called back to the location because the suspect had returned to the property. He was arrested and booked into jail for violation of trespass.
Jan. 29
Theft/fraud: At 9:26 a.m. a suspect purchased one watch with a check that bounced at Bellevue Way Northeast, which totalled approximately $40,000. This is likely related to similar fraud cases in the area.
Theft: At 8:39 police responded to a theft in progress at a store on Bellevue Way Northeast. While en-route to the scene, security advised that they were in a foot pursuit with the suspect who was resisting apprehension. Officers arrived and assisted with detaining the suspect. During a struggle with the suspect, security pepper-sprayed the suspect, believing he was about to be assaulted. Loss prevention agents advised that they had witnessed the suspect take multiple items from the store without paying.
Firearm violation: At 9:23 a.m. while on patrol, an officer observed a vehicle that has ties to recent violent offenders in the area. The sole occupant exited the vehicle and was detained. The suspect was found in possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number and determined to be the suspect in various violent crimes in the region.
Stolen vehicle: At 12:15 p.m. officers observed a vehicle that had been reported as stolen. The officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver fled into a parking structure, where officers secured a perimeter. As they were walking into the garage, the driver of the stolen vehicle began to drive out. An officer ordered the male to stop the car, he did and was subsequently arrested and booked for possession of a stolen car and eluding.
Domestic disturbance/assault: At 2:14 p.m. officers responded to a report of a female covered in blood. It was determined that the female had multiple stab wounds. Officers entered the victim’s apartment and arrested her boyfriend for felony assault. He was transported to the hospital for an evaluation. The investigation is ongoing.
Jan.31
Disorderly conduct: At 2:25 p.m. two victims reported a man pointing an orange handgun at them as they drove by at 116th Avenue Northeast. Officers detained the suspect and found an orange cap gun. Both victims believed the firearm to be real and were afraid of being harmed. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Attempted residential burglary: At 9:21 p.m. police responded to a possible attempted burglary in progress at 108th Avenue Northeast. An unknown male was standing on an awning just outside of the victim’s balcony, and he appeared to be looking for a way to gain access into her home. Officers conducted an unsuccessful area check for the suspect.
Trespass: At 10:50 p.m. police responded to a possible burglary report at 116th Avenue Northeast. Upon arrival, the officer determined that a suspect forcibly entered an employee-only area to obtain his personal items.
Trespass: At 11:22 p.m. an officer located two male suspects inside a Conex box that belongs to an adjacent business at 120 Avenue Northeast. Both subjects were detained and later arrested for criminal trespass.
Feb. 1
Drugs: At 3:15 a.m. police contacted a suspect after viewing suspected drug paraphernalia in plain sight on the bench next to him at 140th Avenue Northeast.
Assault with sexual motivation: At 3:36 a.m. officers responded to a call of an unwanted subject. Upon arrival, security advised that the intoxicated suspect was refusing to leave. While investigating the incident, officers discovered that the suspect was a registered sex offender and had entered the female restroom and assaulted a female victim. He was arrested and booked into jail.
Suspicious activity: At 3:37 a.m. while addressing an unwanted subject call at Bellevue Way Northeast, officers were flagged down by a female, who stated she was exiting the business and was asked by the suspect if she needed a ride home. The victim said that she did not request an UBER and that the suspect vehicle was already parked at the location. Officers are continuing the investigation.
Malicious mischief/drugs/obstructing arrest: At 4:17 a.m. police responded to a call of a man with erratic behavior at Northeast 8th Street. The suspect was clearly exhibiting the effects of Methamphetamine consumption, and was placed into handcuffs without incident. He verbally consented to a search of his bag where officers found suspected drug paraphernalia. As the suspect was advised he was under arrest, he began violently resisting and smashed his head through the rear windshield of the patrol vehicle. Bellevue Fire Department medics transported him to the hospital for an evaluation. The investigation also revealed the suspect had an outstanding warrant. The suspect was eventually medically cleared and booked into jail.
Felony order violation/domestic disturbance/theft: At 7:56 p.m. a suspect was found sitting in a car at Northeast 5th street, and was detained without incident. The investigation determined that the suspect jumped on his father’s back, with whom he had a protection order, then hit him on the back of the head. He then choked the victim, but was unsuccessful. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around the victim’s neck. The victim then broke free, and the suspect then stole his cell phone, but it didn’t prevent the victim from calling 911. The victim had several visible injuries but refused treatment.
Feb. 2
Domestic disturbance: At 2:11 a.m. officers responded to a report of an out of control, intoxicated male subject at Southeast 38th Street. The reporting party was his adult sister. He was initially detained without incident. However, after a few minutes, the subject stood up abruptly, and chest bumped an officer. He was quickly restrained.
Fire investigation: At 8:58 a.m. unknown suspect(s) set toilet paper on fire at Lake Washington Boulevard Northeast, causing damage to the family restroom and potentially the HVAC system.
DUI: At 6:25 p.m. a witness called in to report a suspected DUI driver traveling from I-405 to 116 Avenue Northeast and Northeast 8 Street. A traffic officer located the suspect and found two bottles of alcohol around her and vomit inside the vehicle.
Warrants/drugs/possession of stolen property/auto theft tools/obstructing: At 11:33 p.m. a suspect was riding his bike with no helmet or light on Northeast 8 Street in all dark clothing at 30-35mph. The suspect was stopped and found to have several warrants, $3,500 bail. The suspect was arrested, and a search produced suspected heroin, paraphernalia, auto theft tools, and a stolen credit card.
