Boston’s ArcLight Cinemas will not reopen.
The Los Angeles movie theater company, which opened an outpost at Hub on Causeway by TD Garden months before the COVID-19 pandemic shut it down, announced this week that all of its cinemas were shut for good.
“This was not the outcome anyone wanted, but despite a huge effort that exhausted all potential options, the company does not have a viable way forward,” the ArcLight website now states.
The company was beloved in Southern California, particularly for the Cinerama Dome at its flagship in Hollywood, which opened in 2002.
