With spring in Seattle comes cherry blossoms, rain — and bubble tea? Yup, Boba Fest, the almost-but-not-quite-infringing-on-Star-Wars-copyright bubble tea festival is coming back to the University District for a second year on April 29.
According to the Boba Fest website the U District has more than 30 places that serve boba, making it the hub for the tapioca pearl drink. You might say that every week is Boba Fest week down on the Ave, but during the one-day event participating tea shops will be featuring some truly wild boba beverages, including Don’t Yell at Me’s pink lychee smoothie topped with cheese foam and Möge Tea’s brown sugar boba.
