Daisy Edgar-Jones will “Feel the Earth Move” with her lead role as the Carole King in Sony’s “Beautiful.” Variety reports that the musical biopic of the legendary singer-songwriter will be directed by Oscar-nominated “The Kids Are All Right” writer-director Lisa Cholodenko.
“Daisy has a spirit and energy that I recognized as myself when I was younger,” King said. “She’s a tremendous talent and I know she’s going to give a great performance.”
Cholodenko and co-writer Stuart Blumberg are currently working on the “Beautiful” script, which will be adapted from the Grammy-winning Broadway stage show. “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” ran for five years and earned a Tony for Jessie Mueller’s
