Members of House and Senate join forces to reform the military's handling of sexual crimes among the ranks

    In a swift effort to take the power of prosecution for sexual crimes against military members away from their direct chain of command, several U.S. House members have teamed up with dozens of senators in hopes of quickly passing new legislation named in honor of slain Fort Hood Spc. Vanessa Guillen.

    The Vanessa Guillen Military Justice Improvement and Increasing Prevention Act — a bipartisan bill sponsored by Reps Jackie Speier, D-Calif., and Michael Turner, R-Ohio — is now the House companion to the Military Justice Improvement and Increasing Prevention
