Other Video Doorbells to Consider

I’ve tested several other video doorbells. These are the ones that narrowly missed out on a place above.

Doro Hemma Doorbell for £150: A simplified smart doorbell for seniors is a solid idea, and Swedish maker Doro gets plenty right with the Hemma. It is a battery-powered doorbell that’s easy to install and use, offering a 1440 x 1440-pixel resolution with a decent frame rate (30 fps), local recording via microSD card, and a plug-in ringer that gets loud enough to hear throughout the home. It worked reliably during testing, and the mobile app

The Best Travel Strollers for All Your Family Adventures (2025)

Honorable Mentions

There are a lot of strollers out there. Here are a few more I like but aren’t my top recommendations for one reason or another.

Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 for $400: This is another city stroller like the Thule Shine, but its nearly flat fold reminds me of a travel stroller. It comes with a car seat attachment that works with many popular car seat makers, so it’s a great pick if you want something to work with a car seat right away and still has a great, lightweight fold. It has fantastic wheel suspension, similar to a jogging stroller but with much smaller

National News Serious injuries from in-flight turbulence are rare, but scientists say they may be becoming more common as climate change alters the jet stream. A Delta Airlines plane lands at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport Friday, March 28, 2025. AP Photo/Gene J. Puskar, File

As Gaza suffers, US companies are reaping horrific payoffs | Katrina vanden Heuvel

Thousands of famished people waiting for hours in 90-degree heat to secure bags of flour that run out after 10 minutes – this is a typical scene at the four aid distribution centers remaining in Gaza. The cause of this desperation isn’t shortages per se, because the World Food Programme has tons of food waiting to be delivered to malnourished Palestinians.

Instead, the problem is Israel’s months-long blockade of aid, which more than 100 humanitarian organizations have stated is causing “chaos, starvation, and death”. And though Israeli authorities began allowing a trickle of convoys to resume deliveries over the weekend, the face-saving gesture is too little for the one in

The Best Cheap Headphones We’ve Tried

Nothing might often claim to be more, but where the rubber meets the road it essentially marries great design with affordable, well-made tech. That’s nothing to scoff at, particularly where its earbuds are concerned. The Ear (a) (8/10, WIRED Recommends) are a particular standout in this regard; these headphones look and feel easily as nice as an Apple product, and they boast the vast majority of the same features as AirPods Pro, but cost about half as much.

You don’t get the same xMEMS driver combination you get in the Soundpeats model above, but the build quality and case are nicer. I even like the lighter look and feel when

Fema denies grants to three Kentucky counties hit by devastating storms

0

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) denied requests for three Kentucky counties affected by severe storms last spring, and deemed the state ineligible for hazard mitigation grants that would help prepare for future disasters .

Fema officials claimed the areas did not suffer enough damage to merit federal support, in a letter issued to the governor on Tuesday. But the move is just the latest in a series of denials from the agency, as the Trump administration seeks to shift the burden of responding to and recovering from disasters on to states.

Last week, Fema also rejected Maryland’s request for disaster assistance after near-record-level flooding in May destroyed hundreds of homes

Asus Chromebook CX14 Review: What You Get for $429

Like the mediocre quality of the display, the touchpad is also rather middling. I’ve used worse, but its plastic surface isn’t as smooth and responsive as glass ones. The click mechanism is loud and requires too much effort to press. It’s also loose, so you can depress the touchpad without registering a click. All of this is common in cheap laptops, and over time, it’s something I think I could get used to. But when you jump back to something more premium, you’ll notice a huge difference. The keyboard isn’t quite as troublesome, but the keys do feel squishier than I like. I don’t mind the grippy texture on

Arkansas police arrest man in killings of married couple hiking in state park

A 28-year-old Arkansas man was arrested on Wednesday in the killings of a married couple in front of their children at Devil’s Den state park over the weekend, officials said.

Arkansas state police arrested James Andrew McGann from Springdale and charged him with two counts of capital murder. Police did not mention a possible motive.

McGann had been hired at Springdale public schools as a teacher candidate for the upcoming year but had not yet come into contact with any of its families or students, the district said in a statement.

A lawyer couldn’t be located for him yet as he’s just been arrested. It was not immediately clear when his first
