A Bitter Lake two-bedroom or a Capitol Hill loft?
Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in the Seattle area. We found six listings within $100 of today’s price: $1,700.
In Fremont, find an 850-square-foot, two-bedroom apartment with one and a half bathrooms, a private deck, and a covered parking spot for $1,730 per month. It includes in-unit laundry and a dishwasher. Pets are allowed, but it’ll cost you both a deposit and pet rent. It’s just a block off the 5 route and a few blocks from the E Line.
This two-bedroom in Bitter Lake with 950 square feet of space has two full bathrooms, in addition to a balcony, in-unit laundry, vaulted ceilings, and a dishwasher. $1,700 in rent includes an indoor parking spot, but it’s also on the 5 and 355 routes. No word on pets.
Head to West Seattle just south of the Junction for a 518-square-foot studio with a sleeping nook in a new-construction building for $1,695. Shared amenities include a fitness center with a bouldering wall, a roof deck with barbecues, and a clubhouse; the apartment itself has a small balcony, a dishwasher, and in-unit laundry. Parking’s available for an extra $95 a month, but it’s also near multiple bus lines. Pets can come, too.
In Capitol Hill, this newly renovated loft in a midcentury building is going for $1,695. That includes floor-to-ceiling windows and a dishwasher. There’s parking available, although the listing’s short on details—still, it’s close to public transportation, including the light rail. Cats can come, too, but not dogs.

In Ballard, this 620-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment with a substantial private balcony is available for $1,695, which includes underground parking—but being right off Market, it’s close to bus lines. A large roof deck has seating and barbecues. Cats and certain dogs can live here, too.
This Squire Park/Central Area studio in a brand-new building is renting for $1,690. That includes 481 square feet of space, in-unit laundry, in-unit bike mounts, and huge windows. Pets are allowed—the building has a dog wash station and a mini dog park, too. Other shared amenities include lobby hammocks, lockers, a club room, and a roof deck with barbecues.
