The Lookout is stashed away in that hidden, steep, sometimes-ignored northwestern shoulder of Capitol Hill, but, hey, cool things get stashed away for a reason. At this casual neighborhood bar, the pub grub is perfectly nice, but it’s the gardeny backyard deck that’s the real draw. The patio offers sweeping views of downtown Seattle, the Space Needle and Puget Sound, making it a super appealing perch for those elusive sunny Seattle afternoons. Inside, the vibe is chill and unfussy, and they’ve got crinkle-cut fries, burgers, fried chicken sliders, and melty grilled sandwiches, alongside house wine and microbrews on tap. On the weekends, a brisk brunch program does crab cake Benedicts, breakfast burritos, and bottomless mimosas. And dogs are welcome anytime.
