Fraud: At 2 a.m. an individual was trying to sell furniture on Craigslist. Unknown subjects sent three checks for much more than the asking prices, in which they requested the seller take the amount owed, place the remaining money in a cashier’s check and send it back. The seller was not out of any money or property.
Rape: At 2:33 p.m. a victim reported being raped numerous times at the 14500 block of Southeast 24th Street over the course of the evening;. The victim said she knew the person for about two weeks.
Malicious mischief: At 10 a.m. at the 13600 block of Northeast 12th Street, a suspect got into a brief argument with his neighbor for talking on the phone too loudly. The suspect kicked down his neighbor’s front door, causing significant damage. Conflicting stories and lack of evidence and witnesses has resulted in the summoning of the suspect.
Fraud: At 11 a.m. a local plumber used his ex-employers Oregon contractor license to obtain a plumbing business permit from Bellevue’s City Hall. The suspect’s fraud was uncovered after customers, who were disappointed in his work, looked into his background.
Possession of stolen vehicle: At noon officers located a stolen vehicle driving on the 11400 block of Southeast 8th Street. The vehicle was stolen in Port Angeles, and a search of the vehicle netted shaved keys, stolen mail, and suspected drug items.
K-9 agency assist: At 12:20 a.m. BPD K-9s and their partners assisted Kirkland police at the 14500 block of 113 Avenue Northeast on a fleeing, dangerous felony suspect. After an extensive track, the suspect could not be located, however he was identified by officers at the scene.
Theft: At 7 p.m. a suspect stole beer from a store on the 4100 block of Factoria Boulevard Southeast, and fled from security and police in his wheelchair. Officers commandeered him and the wheelchair, and he was arrested.
Car prowl: At 9:20 p.m. officers responded to a car prowl report on the 5400 block of 119th Avenue Southeast, where the victim’s front passenger side window was smashed and personal items were missing.
Car Prowl: At 11:19 p.m. a victim contacted police about a car prowl in progress on the 14600 block of Eastgate Way. The suspect was observed illegally entering a vehicle and taking items. Upon arrival officers found the front passenger-side window had been broken.
Car theft: At 7:44 a.m. a victim reported his vehicle stolen, and that he was tracking it via GPS southbound on I-405 towards Renton. The owner still had the keys and had locked his vehicle overnight. Kent police recovered the vehicle at an apartment complex in Kent.
Arson: At 5 p.m. an unknown individual lit the contents of two trash cans on fire at the Downtown Transit Center. No one was hurt and there was no structural damage. Metro is reviewing video surveillance and will report back to the responding officer.
Car theft: At 7:01 p.m. a victim dropped off his 2005 Bentley with a valet at the 900 block of Bellevue Way Northeast, while a male behind him dropped off a rented Hyundai. When the victim returned to retrieve his vehicle, the driver of the Hyundai was given the keys to the Bentley and drove off with another female. The ”owner” hadn’t registered the vehicle for two years, was driving on a trip permit, and had no documentation. Once the true owner is identified, they can sign for the stolen vehicle.
Bentley bandit strikes: At 5:54 p.m. a victim was walking on the 500 block of Bellevue Way Northeast when a suspect jumped out of a stolen Bentley and pulled her purse off her shoulder, which dragged her down to the ground and caused injury to her knee.
